The Waipuna Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including Two members from your area, and three members from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Maintain and build new footpaths and bike paths, especially around schools and the University.

    Reduce congestion by supporting mass rapid transit, increasing bus services and investigating park and ride facilities.

  • Advocate for options in Riccarton that meet the needs of residents and get them to work, school or play on time and safely.

    Support the rollout of bus shelters and improvements to existing stops to increase usage of public transport.

    Work with the local community on suburban parking to address frustrations about blocked driveways and dangerous double parking.

  • Advocate for safer streets around schools, shopping areas and busy intersections in Riccarton.

    Push for well-maintained footpaths to encourage walking in our community.
