Wairoa District Council

Wairoa Māori Ward
The Wairoa District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of six councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). three councillors will be elected from the Wairoa ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I loved my upbringing here in Wairoa, our town has endless potential. I strongly believe with the right team we can begin to build, nourish and grow our community back to its full glory, creating a sustainable pathway forward with our communities well-being at the centre.

About me

I enjoy life as an active member of our community, contributing to a range of kaupapa. I bring experience in governance, supported by a strong understanding of legislation.

My priorities
  1. Control council expenditure.
  2. Innovate tourism and protect and utilise assets to reinvest into the Wairoa community.
  3. Modernise infrastructure, focusing on sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
