Why I'm standing

I am running for council to bring a strong, articulate Māori voice to the table. I am running to share the aspirations and issues that affect our Māori communities. I am running for the Māori ward to also ensure that mokopuna Māori have a stronger future where our aspirations as Māori are part of the council DNA.

About me

I am uri of our Awa Tupua, born and raised at Kaiwhaiki Marae and am a protégé of our kuia, in particular of our Awa that groomed me to be a voice for our people in all sorts of forums. I believe in equity and the importance of ensuring the tino rangatiratanga of Māori as guaranteed by the Treaty of Waitangi.

My priorities
  1. Maintain the mana of our Awa Tupua through protecting its health.
  2. Develop papakainga for whānau.
  3. Set in stone the Māori ward system on council.
