Halswell Ward
The Christchurch City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 16 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). One councillor will be elected from the Halswell ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I believe a more focused sustainable development approach is required. This means sustainable spending, lowering carbon emission, biodiversity protection, reducing waste and lowering impacts to land, air and water.

About me

I am a member of Project Management Institute (PMI) for over 15 years and follow the PMI code of ethics, which is about making the best possible decision concerning people, resources and the environments. The PMI values are honesty, responsibility, respect and fairness. that drives ethical conduct. The PMI ethics and values resonates well with the my Rotary Club and also with that of the council. I am not aligned with any political party.

My priorities
  1. Address current issues in Halswell such as new housing development impacts and traffic flow.
  2. Ensure sustainable budget, rates and reporting.
  3. Create a Sustainability Program for Innovation Collaboration with Youth (SPICY).
