Mayor of Christchurch

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Christchurch City Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

To bring back genuine, authentic public representation. To ensure Christchurch has officials in office that actually 'Hear and Care' and do. To make Christchurch the envy of every New Zealand city. To see Christchurch return to being a 'happy healthy thriving and free' city.

About me

I have a heart and mind for the people. I genuinely 'hear and care'. I have a professional and vocational history working with people from all walks of life and status in their most distressing times. I believe in the intrinsic value of every Cantabrian. I am values-based and hold integrity, transparency, compassion, and accountability as essentials. I believe that we TOGETHER as a community hold the answers to the issues we face.

My priorities
  1. Weekly public meetings with the Mayor. Monthly for all councillors, for genuine public consultation.
  2. Build the hospital car park. Care for those who care for us and reduce distress for users.
  3. Stop Three Waters to protect local democracy and halt the divisive race-based policy.
