Why I'm standing

As a trained journalist, I have been investigating huge issues with both communities and the environment for more than a decade. It's relentless and often concerns and questions are not answered. After my petition against water bottling consents reached 114,000 signatures, I knew I wasn't alone with my frustrations. The coastal environment is the same – consents often go unchallenged, jeopardising ecosystem health and some of the country's unique species. That's why I'm running.

About me

I have proven results: my petition against water bottling consents led me to become a co-founder of AWA, which successfully overturned these consents recently, in the Court of Appeal. That alone took four years. I have the know-how, skills and stamina to see things through to the end.

My priorities
  1. Create a Marine Protected Area in Banks Peninsula to protect many endemic species.
  2. Committed to cleaning up our rivers, including protected areas for birdlife, and native planting.
  3. Create full protection for our endemic Hector's dolphins, including banning set netting.
