Fiordland Community Board

The Fiordland Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Southland District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of seven members: six members elected by voters, and one councillor from the Southland District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Ensure Council staff adopt a community-led approach and consider the "outside in" view when delivering Council work and community projects.

    Proactively approach and use local connections with schools, youth, iwi and other minority groups so their voice is heard around the table.

    Use my strategic management skills communicate effectively between council staff and community for the betterment of all.

  • Support that any job vacancy is given to the best person for the job..

    Support any tender process from tenderer to council works contract that it not based on racial decision.
