Local governments play a central role in protecting the environment, reducing waste and safeguarding biodiversity. The worsening state of New Zealand’s lakes and rivers is a major challenge for local councils, which work with regional councils in the management of water resources in their area.

Help refocus the council towards denser housing in the Auckland CBD to lessen the environmental stress here on our community.
Support our agricultural and horticultural community.
Protection of our beach lands to minimise soil erosions and help those affected by the increase in climate change.
Create riparian plantings around all council waterways. Increase wetlands for future-proofing stormwater and agricultural activity.
Form a green corps where cadets will learn to turn a possum into fur and pet food. Learning other methods of pest control, eg rats.
Franklin is ideal for domestic worm farming and where possible your own compost heap. Turn plastic milk containers into fence posts.
I want residents to enjoy the high-quality essential core services they deserve. I want to do what I can to reduce wasteful spending.
