Climate change and resilience

Climate change poses a huge challenge for communities as more frequent extreme weather events require us to rethink how we live and where. Local authorities are at the forefront of efforts to respond, with responsibilities for environmental planning and regulation, as well as civil defence. Many councils have plans to reduce emissions in their area and are working to help their communities adapt to a warming world.

  • Reduce gas emissions. Freight line to reduce truck traffic, fund research on crops that reduce emissions and plant more native trees.

Green technology roof gardens, dedicated wetlands. No further subdivision in Auckland until our infrastructure has caught up.

To bring all our civil works in-house. We will have a more reliable workforce with appropriate equipment with in-house training.

  • The last thing we want to do is impoverish ourselves. I will support mitigation policies that don't throttle our businesses and the economy.

Defend property rights against any proposed solutions that are unworkable, dangerous and useless.

Fight hard left climate alarmism politics.

  • Support a circular economy, empower/facilitate waste to be used as viable products reducing waste in our environment.

Protecting our unique natural environment and waterways.

Lead and inform environmental conservation, restoration, and regeneration projects and to recover and regenerate waste.

  • I will work with mana whenua, local communities, to lead and inform environmental conservation, projects and to recover and regenerate waste.

  • Stop the permanent loss of our agricultural and horticultural assets in the Franklin area. With climate change we need this land.

Taxes on you are not going to fix our climate issues in in the future.
