Franklin Local Board

The Franklin Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of nine members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. Four members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     With the growth we've had here fixing our transport and roads should be a priority for everyone.

    The pedestrian areas in Auckland city are now so dangerous because of the e-scooters. Keep them out of Franklin and off our footpaths.

  • Encourage better transportation services, which is needed for people to lose their car. The alternative needs to be better than the current.

    Building on existing cycle lanes and develop plans to encourage more recreation.

  • Public transport Free public transport. Increase accessibility to trains. More buses running. All electric. Owned by council.

    Airports Take over ownership of airports and Air New Zealand. Heavy rail link from Puhinui station.

    Traffic congestion Cured with better public transport and increased freight on electrified rail.
