Why I'm standing

Waiuku is home for my wife and I and our family. Having served as an elected local board member, I appreciate more than ever the importance of experience, practical and enthusiastic representation of our area at local board level. I am not afraid to actively speak-out and stand up for community issues and I am enthusiastic about Waiuku and the Awhitu Peninsula, and the job of preserving its special qualities.

About me

I have previously been a City Councillor for nine years and have also served as a local board member on one of the northern local boards so I have a clear understanding of the functions and responsibilities of local boards. I believe that political action should reflect public sentiment and I appreciate the need to listen to the community and act accordingly. I promise to provide leadership, accountability, and responsiveness.

My priorities
  1. Investigate options for opening a youth centre in Waiuku.
  2. Advocate for improvements to public transport.
  3. Advocate for improvements to drinking water quality in Waiuku.
