Councillor on Hawke's Bay Regional Council

Why I'm standing

I want to use my 25 years of experience in environmental and local government law to benefit the region, and build on the impact and value I have made and added in my first term on the regional council, including as chair of regional transport and hearings committees.

About me

I work well in a team environment, with a deep and robust understanding of the complex challenges faced by regional councils (not least in Hawke's Bay) from my legal training and experience under the RMA, getting to the core issues and finding solutions. Strategic thinking and long term vision.

My priorities
  1. Climate change resilience and mitigation (reducing regional emissions, being better prepared).
  2. Biodiversity, 'rewilding' our urban and rural landscapes, predator control, and sediment control.
  3. Public transport, rail and freight network to support social and economic wellbeing of region.
