Why I'm standing

I am passionate about our great region and proud of living here for most of my life. However, council must focus on its core business with cost-effective spending and working to reduce debt levels. With very large increases in council's spending and debt levels in the last three years a real concern to me and for future generations. It is essential to have affordable Horizon's rates and levels of debt in these challenging times.

About me

I have a gold medal in Agriculture from Lincoln University and International study at Minnesota University. And wide leadership experience prior to standing for Horizons, such as three years as President of Manawatū/Rangitīkei Federated Farmers. As a previous Horizon's councillor, I have wide leadership experience, and I am highly committed to be a positive and effective councillor and refreshed and motivated to represent you if elected to Horizons Regional Council, with your vote.

My priorities
  1. I would continue to build trust and good working relationships between the community and council.
  2. Focus on core business, cost-effective spending, and affordable Horizon's rates.
  3. I'll listen and bring common sense to the big issues. Ensure Horizon's levels of debt are manageable.
