Hurunui District Council

East Ward
The Hurunui District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 10 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Two councillors will be elected from the East ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I want to work with both the community and the council to get better outcomes and deliver on expectations.

About me

I have been a member of St John in Cheviot, a member of the search and rescue team, in the local Cheviot Lions, and been on both the Cheviot Area Schools Board and the president of their Home and School committee. By being part of the community you can best represent it.

My priorities
  1. Ensure that the current level of council services are preserved at current rates.
  2. Increase the opportunity for public transport in different forms throughout the district.
  3. Keep rate payer assets (Three Waters) in the hands of our rate payers.
