Councils are currently also responsible for managing waste water, storm water and drinking water infrastructure – the ‘Three Waters’. But that may be about to change, with central government seeking to shift the delivery of Three Waters services to four new larger entities, which could borrow enough to upgrade the country’s water infrastructure.

Deliver the infrastructure improvements needed for our city to thrive.
Have an honest consultation with our community on affordable options for future infrastructure investment.
Address the deteriorating roads and footpaths. There are too many potholes.
Deep dive into our recycling system aim to make this world class. Develop industry around this area.
Work on better ways to capture and store rainwater over the winter months so we can live carefree over the summer months.
As a city, we should always be able to drink straight from the tap, a small luxury most people around the world don't have.
