Malvern Community Board

Hawkins Subdivision
The Malvern Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Selwyn District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: five members elected by voters, including two members from your area, and one councillor from the Selwyn District council. There will be no election this year because there are the same number of candidates as there are positions. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Malvern Community Board election.

Local democracy

Local government is a foundational part of our democracy. But local democracy isn’t just about holding elections every three years – it’s about the day-to-day ways people have their say in the decisions that affect us all.

  • As a New Zealander, I believe that ALL New Zealanders should have equal rights and equal opportunities. One person, one vote!

It is important for the communities we represent to have access to us and for us to go out into those communities. Drop in sessions are good.
