Marlborough District Council

Blenheim General Ward
The Marlborough District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also passes local regulations and makes decisions about infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage, and about the region’s resources, including water, soil and the coastline. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Seven councillors will be elected from the Blenheim ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Marlborough District Council election.

Why I'm standing

I like helping constituents and resolving issues. Being a part of important decision making for the Marlborough community motivates me to be the community voice and raise concerns. I like how policies can influence positive outcomes for everyone.

About me

I have 12 years experience as a Marlborough district councillor and have built connections with central government. I am very accessible and easy to approach. I listen and take concerns back to Council. I stand up for my beliefs and principles and I have constantly done this on my time at Council.

My priorities
  1. Keep control and governance of our Three Waters infrastructure.
  2. Keep decision making local, pushback at any attempt of Top of the South amalgamation.
  3. Stand up against race base governance structures and policies.
