Masterton District Council

Masterton District At Large
The Masterton District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of eight councillors and the mayor. This election is for the three councillors elected by all voters in the district. The other councillors will be elected to represent wards (areas in the district). This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Masterton District Council election.

Why I'm standing

I love Masterton town and the region, and I want to see it at its best. There are many positive actions happening for our town, but there are also huge gaps on some important issues that need addressing, now. No more talk, no more consulting, let's just get on with the job with more action, less noise!

About me

Governance and strategy lights my fire. I bring an extensive skill set to the councillor role. I am passionate about our community, and I am driven and focused. I am a straight shooter and will confidently dig deep on issues and ask the questions ensuring the answers paint a whole picture for the community to understand.

My priorities
  1. Infrastructure – get the basics right and ensure comprehensive maintenance plan is in place.
  2. Rates affordability – ensuring everyone is paying a fair price.
  3. Civic centre and priority projects-re-engage, re-assess viable solutions. What can the town afford?
