Mayor of Masterton

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Masterton District Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

Masterton is a wonderful town. It's time for a change with a new team to represent the community properly.

About me

I have a lifetime experience of manufacturing companies employing large numbers of people with relations trusted to me. Born in Carterton, love Masterton. I have the energy as a young pensioner to lead the community. I'll be in a Rotarian member for 30-odd years got involved in local governance more recently.

My priorities
  1. Slow down rates and spending.
  2. Keep developing more cycleways around town with roundabouts.
  3. New train tracks to Palmerston North.
