Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board

The Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of seven members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. Four members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Minimise the consumption of unnecessary water usage.

    Reduce the usage of insecticides to protect biodiversity.

    Encourage and improve the recycling schemes.

  • Continue efforts to clean up Omaru Creek and it's water, leading to Tāmaki estuary.

    Support pest eradication efforts in both public and private spaces to protect endangered indigenous flora and fauna.

    Push council to install more bins along the Tāmaki Path to prevent discarded rubbish being blown into Tāmaki estuary.
