Why I'm standing

I am seeking a sixth term because I feel I make a valuable contribution particularly in advocating for, and supporting our most vulnerable residents. A hard worker, my seniority and local body experience provides a balance in our council, which helps us work as a team.

About me

Over my years of service, I've developed enduring relationships across the city with not-for-profit groups, residents associations in my ward, churches, Māori entities, businesses, schools and service providers. Their issues and concerns I bring to the council table. I'm on the executive of our Grey Power association and a Charitable Trust in Maraenui, meaning I spend many hours in voluntary work actively helping. I'm a team worker, a hard worker and an advocate for others.

My priorities
  1. Build partnerships: the future we face needs a collaborative effort across all our communities.
  2. Tackle the effects of climate change in partnership with our community and other stakeholders.
  3. Enable housing construction at every level. Including a night shelter for the homeless.
