Onekawa-Tamatea Ward
The Napier City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 12 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). Two councillors will be elected from the Onekawa-Tamatea ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Develop youth internships and mentorship programs within council.

    Sort out the flow of pedestrians and vehicles in the CBD, i.e. crossing points, to best work for all.

  • Find innovative ways to encourage people into Napier CBD area to support local businesses and keep it lively.

    Improve car parking and public transport access to the central city.

    Attraction pass for locals to frequent all year round at a reduced rate to keep them busy, alive and generate income.
