Ōmokoroa Community Board

The Ōmokoroa Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Western Bay of Plenty District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: four members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Build public car wash areas (using recycled water) to reduce the number of people washing cars at home and reducing contamination of water.

    Educate people through marketing about effective ways of reducing and minimising contamination to water.

    Build more public rubbish bins in public places such as parks.

  • Ensure that Ōmokoroa's voice is heard by council in maintaining green spaces in Ōmokoroa.

    Provide a safe beach environment for Ōmokoroa families to enjoy.

  • Contribute to planning processes to ensure that future growth is managed with due respect to our local environment here in Ōmokoroa.

    Promote environmental protection whilst considering the social and commercial realities of present-day life in Ōmokoroa.

    Support initiatives that connect residents, especially children, with the unique environmental features of Ōmokoroa.
