Rodney Local Board

The Rodney Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of nine members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. One member will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Protect our beaches, waterways, islands and wildlife. Te Arai and Pakiri need to be protected from sand mining.

    Continue the support of pest control programmes and ensure that these are adequate for the region.

    Improve access to recycling resources and reduce our impact. Help businesses to minimise the waste they create and dispose of it appropriately.

  • To improve water quality, introduce the unsealed road improvement program to eliminate sediment flowing into the Kaipara Harbour.
