The Rotorua District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 10 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Six councillors will be elected from the Te Ipu Wai Auraki General ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Enable communities to enhance their local reserve by planting fruit trees, gardens and develop recreational facilities that meet their needs.

    Development and upkeep of sporting facilities to ensure our families have places and spaces to recreate. Improve water sport facilities.

    Encourage our community to utilise outdoor recreation facilities and spaces. Engage with different sporting bodies.

  • Complete the upgrades to the Aquatic Centre and Rotorua Museum.

    Support cultural and indigenous arts and cultural events.

    Invest in our green spaces to improve the turf and provide a greater variety of recreational activities. Plant fruit trees.
