Mayor of Ruapehu

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Ruapehu District Council mayoral election.

| Waimarino-Waiouru Ward Councillor of the Ruapehu District

Why I'm standing

I'll put people first. I'll serve my community with kindness. I'll get the mahi done. Ruapehu is my home and heart. I am a born and bred local who understands what we need to ensure our district thrives for all of us to enjoy. We've got the goods and it's time to put these – and me – to work.

About me

I am born and bred in Ruapehu and I have the experience needed to deliver our key priorities now and in the future. Community is people. People make community. No one in political office can act without the support of their community, nor without a deep understanding of the communities they represent. It is about understanding who you are, where you come from, and most importantly, who you serve. I have that.

My priorities
  1. Grow investment, incomes and employment of people who visit and call our district their home.
  2. Safeguard our flourishing lands to make this place our home where we proudly live, play and work.
  3. Build warm, dry safe homes in our communities which are invested in by local developers.
