Selwyn District Council

Malvern Ward
The Selwyn District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 10 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Two councillors will be elected from the Malvern ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Selwyn District Council election.

Why I'm standing

I believe in Malvern being fairly represented at council and I feel that Malvern is being forgotten about. I want to make this a great place for the next generation. Continually I hear people wanting change and the only way we will get this is with fresh enthusiastic councillors like myself. I want people to have confidence in their councillor to do what is right by the community.

About me

I have grown up and lived in this area most of my life, and have now chosen to have a family here. This makes me a community minded parent who wants to see Malvern flourish. I have been a business owner and grassroot volunteer in our community. Working with people my entire life will bring full engagement with all demographics.

My priorities
  1. Deliver the basics – roading, water, community support and communication.
  2. Plan for future growth while maintaining our rural identity.
  3. Keep rates affordable, we need good financial management and budgeting.
