Why I'm standing

I have always been passionate about our environment, both living and natural. We are a province which relies heavily on farming and I have considerable knowledge of and possess great passion for our farming community. I grew up in Taranaki, all my children and grandchildren reside here. I enjoy detailed discussions and will happily alter my stance if proven incorrect, while possessing courage, when and as required to continue a debate with data and/or facts.

About me

I possess a wide range of experience in work and pastimes. I have been a local body councillor and a community board member. I have worked in water treatment, in agriculture (soils and animal health), engineering company management, as a builder, accountancy and insurance among other occupations. I am an avid vegetable gardener, fisherman, and beekeeper. I am known as a 'straight shooter' and I treasure honesty and transparency as desirable attributes.

My priorities
  1. Ensure honesty and transparency is utilised with important decision making.
  2. Encourage strong resistance to central government overreach.
  3. Ensure our three district councils are involved in serious decision making where appropriate.
