Tasman District Council

Lakes-Murchison Ward
The Tasman District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also passes local regulations and makes decisions about infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage, and about the region’s resources, including water, soil and the coastline. The council is made up of 13 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). One councillor will be elected from the Lakes-Murchison ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Tasman District Council election.

No to 3 Waters and irresponsible debt

| Waimea Moutere Ward Councillor

Why I'm standing

I am re-standing for one last effort to get out of control spending and debt increases under control. I will also be advocating against the current theft of assets, and loss of local voice, that the current government is pushing through without due consultation. It is not acceptable that the majority of us who asked to speak to our Three Waters submissions were denied a voice. I will speak up for our rural communities.

About me

I have six years of experience in local government and have been a strong advocate for integrity and honest communication. I have been, and remain, consistent in my approach – my previous campaign statements are not an embarrassment to me this election. My voting record is also consistent with my campaign promises. I correctly predicted the dam blowouts (more to come), the impact corona would have, the extent of current interest rates.

My priorities
  1. Control spending and debt.
  2. Stop government theft of your assets.
  3. Focus on essentials until the economy and household incomes have recovered.
