Why I'm standing

My aspiration for our community is one that is independent, engaged and politically savvy. I have compassion and empathy for Waiheke, we are constantly in threat of being taken over as another suburb of Auckland. I have a strong work ethic and community connection and I make it my service to listen and problem solve, build relationships and I have active listening skills as well as common sense and initiative.

About me

I am an active member of our community, I have lived and worked on the island for the past ten years. I am visible and approachable and can help with access to services on the island having lived experiences. I have been working on building community resilience through various social and professional connections. I am currently the chair of Homegrown Waiheke and working on building food resilience on the island.

My priorities
  1. Support our young people and their movement as community organisers and political activists.
  2. Wetland restoration and protection is vital for understanding their action as carbon sinks.
