Why I'm standing

While I'm relatively new to Waihi Beach, I'm passionate about this beautiful place that my family and I are now proud to call our home. I believe in genuine community engagement, managing growth sustainably, and maintaining our unique beachside character.

About me

Effective communication is what I've built my career and communications consultancy business on, and that's also how I intend to represent my community – through excellent, open communication. I have governance experience including chairing a not-for-profit board. And having reported on council meetings for years as a journalist, council agendas and processes are familiar to me.

My priorities
  1. Support the introduction of an off-peak events programme to provide consistent economic benefits.
  2. Introduce live streamed board meetings and improved communications from the board into the community.
  3. Support sustainable development that manages growth carefully and enhances our beachside character.
