Waihi Beach Community Board

The Waihi Beach Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Western Bay of Plenty District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: four members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Waihi Beach Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I have been encouraged by many people in my community to run for the role. Waihi Beach is a taonga (treasure) and must be cared for in that way.

About me

I am well known in the community and have experience gained over the past 25 years working with councils.

My priorities
  1. Hold events that support opportunities to build kotahitanga (unity) in our community.
  2. Create spaces that promote positive whānaungatanga (relationships) in our community.
  3. Make sure that our community feels safe and valued here at Waihi Beach.
