Waihi Beach Community Board

The Waihi Beach Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Western Bay of Plenty District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: four members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Local governments play a central role in protecting the environment, reducing waste and safeguarding biodiversity. The worsening state of New Zealand’s lakes and rivers is a major challenge for local councils, which work with regional councils in the management of water resources in their area.

  • Support the funding by the Waihi Beach Community Board and council to encourage and develop a sustainable waste management environment.

    Ensure that the Waihi Beach community has a clean and sustainable water supply.

  • Create and support initiatives that restore, improve and protect freshwater quality and preservation. Water is life.

    Support and enhance kaupapa that aims to protect biodiversity of the environment. A healthy environment...healthy people.

    Promote and support Waihi Beach's sustainable vision for the future of our community. This is a kaupapa I am very passionate about.
