The Waihoro Spreydon-Cashmere-Heathcote Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Christchurch City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of nine members: six members elected by voters, including two members from your area, and three councillors from the Christchurch City council. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Support local environmental groups, empowering them to improve parks, reserves and waterways in our neighbourhoods.

    Continue the waste and recycling education programme for Christchurch homes.

  • Remove chlorine from our water system.

    Complete climate change-related project. Kowhai park, new water facilities etc.

    Complete cycleways in the most effective and economical way.

  • Seek out pockets of land that council can acquire to create mini parks where fruit and or native trees can be planted where appropriate.
