Why I'm standing

There are many challenging issues confronting the Waikato and Aotearoa New Zealand in the near future and I am concerned that the Waikato Regional Council is not currently performing to its full potential. I seek to use my skills and expertise to help us take a more collaborative evidence-based approach to the challenges ahead. I want to focus on outcomes which ensure we do not compromise future generations' inheritance and wellbeing.

About me

My background in environmental science is highly relevant to the regional councillor role, with more than 40 years of experience working at the interface of research, policy and practice. I have a strong track record of helping community groups and iwi to achieve their aspirations in sustaining our land, water and environment.

My priorities
  1. Achieving sustainability in all aspects of life: environmental, economic, social and cultural.
  2. Reversing decline of biodiversity and associated ecosystem services.
  3. Mitigating and adapting to climate change.
