Why I'm standing

I believe our district is being run by central government. Too many demands costing too much and they are unrealistic guidelines, eg fluoride, Three Waters and high density housing proposals. All of the above will be detrimental to our district. I and others are worried about the future for the district and perceive that local government will disappear with central taking over.

About me

I have previous local government experience as I have worked 20 years with them and also two terms on the community board. I have been on a local school board for many years. Did CommSafe patrol and CCTV. Currently treasurer of the local GreyPower group. I am a Christian and have been playing in a church band playing the bass. I love helping people where I can.

My priorities
  1. Three Waters proposal will be costing ratepayers a lot more compared to maintaining assets ourselves.
  2. Looking after the older population will be more prevalent in the near future, better footpaths.
  3. Provide local transport for those not able to drive. Look after the people!
