Waipā District Council

Te Awamutu-Kihikihi General Ward
The Waipā District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 11 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Three councillors will be elected from the Te Awamutu-Kihikihi ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I am currently serving as a councillor and believe that I have the experience and knowledge necessary to actively participate in the role.

My priorities
  1. To make decisions in the best interest for our Waipā community with my local knowledge.
  2. Improve the communication between the community board and council to improve local democracy.
  3. Promote urban mobility with more bus routes and better cycleway solutions, cycle racks etc.
