Why I'm standing

I care about our community. I have skills, knowledge and experience to contribute. I am ready and able to serve. I have lived near Waitomo Caves for 12 years and have observed the issues in this area as well as the wider district. As a councillor (if I am fortunate enough to be elected) I believe I could engage more fully with the wider community to get to the heart of what is needed.

About me

I am a hard worker! I will listen, read and explore all views and ask questions in order to find solutions that are best for the whole community. I have governance and financial experience and qualifications as well as a varied and full work history. I enjoy learning and will relish reading widely and learning as much as I can to enhance my ability to serve the community.

My priorities
  1. Promote best practice climate change governance – to mitigate physical and regulatory risks.
  2. Find an affordable and fair way to preserve and enhance roading (council's largest expense).
  3. Preserve, maintain and enhance community social, cultural, sporting facilities and parks.
