Why I'm standing
I care about our community. I have skills, knowledge and experience to contribute. I am ready and able to serve. I have lived near Waitomo Caves for 12 years and have observed the issues in this area as well as the wider district. As a councillor (if I am fortunate enough to be elected) I believe I could engage more fully with the wider community to get to the heart of what is needed.
About me
I am a hard worker! I will listen, read and explore all views and ask questions in order to find solutions that are best for the whole community. I have governance and financial experience and qualifications as well as a varied and full work history. I enjoy learning and will relish reading widely and learning as much as I can to enhance my ability to serve the community.
My priorities
- Promote best practice climate change governance – to mitigate physical and regulatory risks.
- Find an affordable and fair way to preserve and enhance roading (council's largest expense).
- Preserve, maintain and enhance community social, cultural, sporting facilities and parks.
