Transport options for all – walking, cycling, public transport and cars all have a place in our city.
Commit to a final plan for Lets Get Wellington Moving and get on with implementation.
Better bus services. The only way to improve mobility affordably and quickly. Fares, frequency, routes, stops, comfort. All need improvement.
Establish "Wellington Transport" with Greater Wellington Regional Council. Disband Let's Get Wellington Moving.
State Highway 1 Airport to Ngauranga upgrade ASAP. Undergrounding and widening Caro Drive, expanded tunnel capacity.
Improve transport for all by incentivising public transport use. Increase the frequency of key bus services, paint more bus priority lanes.
Alleviate congestion at key choke points such as the Mount Victoria tunnel.
Work with Greater Wellington Regional Council to assess the suitability of our bus services and network, and to encourage free public transport.
Defer all new cycleways till we can afford it. Invest the $200 million into things we need. We need to decarbonise – not deCARnise.
Build the new tunnel! Don't use the existing tunnel for biking – it will cut off access to Hataitai. Bus mass transit not light rail.
Wellington can be a world leader in driverless zero emission vehicle transport in ten years, if we start and stop trying using old technology.
Encourage as many forms of transport as possible and have strong support for public transport that moves mass numbers of people.
Ensure the city has really good infrastructure to support public transport, such as good signage and bus shelters.
Ensure road safety has a high priority and remove hazards that are a problem for the movement of public transport.
