Why I'm standing

I believe Western Bay is a wonderful part of the country, but it could be even better with better council leadership. I am keen to work with a new mayor to drive that improvement.

About me

I moved to the Kaimai ward 20 years ago and, while I now live in Bethlehem, I am very familiar with the area. Moreover, I have extensive experience in local government, having been a local councillor for most of my life – for 18 years in Christchurch and for 15 years in the Western Bay. That experience can continue to be of great benefit to urban and rural residents alike.

My priorities
  1. Ensure sufficient land is zoned for housing to ensure improved housing affordability.
  2. Pressure central government to upgrade State Highway 2 and State Highway 29 urgently, especially between Te Puna and Omokoroa.
  3. Minimise rate increases by ensuring council operations are as efficient as possible.
Current role

Councillor, Kaimai Ward, Western Bay of Plenty District.
