Mayor of Westland District

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I believe the people of westland deserve better service from our representatives with the lack of accountability in particular to aerial poisoning of our environment and the use of 1080.

About me

I am well traveled and have experience in the possum hunting, building, farming and quantity surveying industries.

My priorities
  1. Enforce legal requirements for the use of poisons that are compromising our health and environments.
  2. Encourage self sufficiency and small business.
  3. Accountability by way of prosecutions for council staff not enforcing rules in the district plan.
