Hold an annual Whangārei festival to encourage tourism but also as a way for locals to engage in a positive environment with council.
Support Hihiaua Cultural centre in their second and third stages of growth before investing in other projects that cover the role of Hihiaua.
Encourage local playgrounds and parks within all community areas of Whangārei.
Encourage after school programmes for youth to be involved in and work to reduce crime through better engagement and allowing them to feel wanted.
Provide better parking and public transport for all facilities to be used.
Develop strategy for sports field renovations from soil-based to sand-based fields and re-evaluate the current lighting strategy.
Support the Forum North Trust to redevelop the current theatre facilities.
Ensure the current policy regarding community use of Semenoff Stadium is fit for purpose and affordable for community organisations.
Invigorate the inner city by connecting to the town basin. Introduce more parking (parking buildings) through public-private partnerships.
Develop sports centres in rural Whangārei to create a hub for local communities and activities for youth.
Encourage restaurant and bar life into the city to lift vibrance and support a night economy and lift the inner city vibrance.
We need to develop the civic and arts centre on the Forum North site and create a parking strategy that brings free parking into town.
We must promote inner city living and activate the link from town basin to the CBD. All of this will help develop a family-friendly city.
The council needs to provide adequate funding for City Safe.
I want to plant grassed areas of loop walkway and Pohe Island in sunflowers, and other areas as well. Sunflowers make people happy.
We need more sports fields and sporting facilities as we are at capacity. Kids in sports are not in courts.
We need more festivals in particular mid winter light festival like they did in Ngunguru. It was a great success.
