Why I'm standing

Justice for animals. For far too long, animals have not had the representation in parliament they deserve. Currently, moral consideration for animals is subjected to how valuable they are – whether economically, personally, or nationally. This narrative needs to change. Exploiting a sentient being can never be justified, let alone humane. Therefore, legislation that upholds this stance and ensures a just transition away from viewing animals as objects is required.

About me

From a former worker in the animal agriculture industry to an animal rights activist, I have witnessed immense animal suffering. For over two years, I've channeled my deep concern for animal exploitation into advocating for people to discontinue their support for these industries. With extensive knowledge of the social complexities surrounding our disconnect from the non-consensual and often violent use of animals, I can empathise with the necessity for legal frameworks to govern morality.

My priorities
  1. End all forms of animal use for sport and entertainment – greyhound racing, horse racing, etc.
  2. End duck shooting and a total ban on killing free-roaming animals.
  3. Government funding for trialling effective and non-lethal methods of managing our introduced species.
