Why I'm standing

My dream is for a society that we are proud to leave for our tamariki mokopuna. A society that thrives because of our caring and reciprocal relationship with the environment. A society that enacts the promises of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and within which our parliament centres equity and justice in every policy decision and political debate. A society where all communities have enough to live safe, happy and fulfilling lives.

About me

Kirikiriroa is my home. I am a pāpā, a teacher, a researcher, and a community organiser. I am also proudly takatāpui and whaikaha. For nearly 10 years I have taught and lead in secondary schools in both Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and Kirikiriroa Hamilton with a focus on rangatahi achieving equitable educational outcomes. I currently work as a university researcher with a focus on education, well-being and anti-racist pedagogy.

My priorities
  1. Advocate for greater investment in efficient, accessible and carbon neutral regional public transport.
  2. Protect and restore natural habitats to regenerate biodiversity and increase climate resilience.
  3. Enable people in our city to meet their daily living needs with our guaranteed minimum income policy.
