Why I'm standing

I believe that governments are judged by how they mange the economy, care for low income families and the environment. We have been through some very difficult years and I am sure that the Labour Party and it's policies will look after all New Zealanders and the environment. I am deeply concerned about the possibility of a right-wing coalition government that fuels unproductive, inflationary property speculation and bases policy on evidence-free populist policies.

About me

I am a Kumeu local who is actively involved in many community organisations including the Lions, Kumeu Arts, Kumeu Emergency Network, Future Kumeu and the Rodney Local Board. I understand the issues that matter to the electorate and have been advocating on their behalf. Our family have had our house flooded three times in the past 2 years which has made me more determined to work for the resilient infrastructure needed to support our electorate.

My priorities
  1. Build infrastructural resilience. This year's cyclones exposed our vulnerability to extreme weather.
  2. Infrastructure before houses on future urban land. Transport issues solved before any new houses.
  3. More jobs in the electorate-encourage business development in the electorate to reduce travel.
