Kaipara ki Mahurangi electorate

Kaipara ki Mahurangi runs from the Kaipara Harbour in the west to Mahurangi in the east and includes Kumeū, Warkworth, Wellsford, Snells Beach, Helensville and and Muriwai. The seat has always been held by the National Party and is currently held by Chris Penk, who won comfortably with a margin of 4,435. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Kaipara ki Mahurangi – 40% to National's 34%. In the 2019/2020 electorate redistribution, Kaipara ki Mahurangi replaced the former Helensville electorate, which was held by prime minister John key from 2002 to 2017.
