Kelston electorate

Kelston covers the west Auckland suburbs of Avondale, Glen Eden, Rosebank, Sunnyvale and Waterview. The seat is currently held by Labour's Carmel Sepuloni, who won safely with a margin of 15,660. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Kelston – 62% to National's 17%. Almost half of people in Kelston identify as either Pasifika (24%) or Asian (22%). The electorate was created in 2014 when the Waitakere electorate was abolished and split into two new electorates, Kelston and Upper Harbour.

Why I'm standing

I believe the New Zealand we know and love is hanging by a thread of failure. To return our country to what we once were, representation from people who bring a wealth of technical skills and lived experiences is crucial. I am committed to tackle issues that most middle income families, youth, and our seniors face. Living costs, high crimes, individual debt, social ills, loneliness and mental health raise huge concerns.

About me

Thirty-five years ago, I settled in West Auckland. My home, business and my community engagement has connected me to people of all faith, colour and creed. I am an accomplished company director with 25 years strategic, governance and management experience. I am recognized for my expertise as a civic society leader having travelled overseas to represent New Zealand and women and contributed on several boards including government and not-for-profit.

My priorities
  1. Restore safety to our homes and environment by seeking just sentences for any crimes committed.
  2. Improve the lives of our seniors as they have earned the right and deserve to be looked after.
  3. Create opportunity for all in education, employment, health and infrastructure access as appropriate.
