Why I'm standing
I have lived in Northland most of my life. I have always enjoyed serving my local community. To be able to serve the wider Northland community would be a real privilege and allow me to help the North realise its potential. As a farmer I've been worried about the lack of gumboot wearing farmers in parliament. I would value the opportunity to represent the wider rural community so their voices are heard and understood.
About me
To represent your community you need to understand it. Having lived in the North most of my life and been involved in the local community in a wide variety of roles, including Chair of the Otamatea High School Board of Trustees and Chair of the Kauri Museum I feel I understand the challenges of Northland. I've also served for 10 years on the Board of the National Party giving me significant political experience.
My priorities
- Get inflation under control so pressure comes off the cost of living and people can afford to buy food.
- Continue to build a 4 lane highway from Auckland to Northland so we realise our economic potential.
- Deliver more health professionals so we can all get medical assistance when we need it.
