I feel a deep need to try to leave the world in a better state than I found it. It's getting harder and harder to believe that will be possible, but I'm going to try. There are loads of ways to serve our country and community. For me, that looks like helping government to get the foundations right so everyone has a decent chance at a good life.
I bring a mixture of irrepressible optimism and pragmatism to almost everything I do. I believe everyone from politicians, to business people, to children, will make good choices when we make good choices easier. I am a policy adviser, trained in philosophy, economics and psychology, with a passion for science and creativity. I love to listen; I love hearing from people who know more than I do, whether from nerdy pursuits or lived experience.
