The council provides funding to local boards to provide public services in their areas, and manages council-controlled organisations which provide infrastructure, such as public transport, water and sewerage. The councillors and mayor make up the governing body, which shares governance of Auckland Council with the 21 local boards. The governing body is made up of 20 councillors plus the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in Auckland). one councillor will be elected from your ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Auckland Council election.

Why I'm standing

Dilute the main Labour (City Vision) and National (C&R) monopoly on local decision making and answer only to Whau ratepayers as Independents standing under the brand "Voices of the People".

About me

I am standing with vast experience over the last approximately 27 years in both Auckland and Canterbury. I am an Aircraft Engineer with military experience and I bring a solutions based approach to local body issues.

My priorities
  1. Keep rates increases to or below the inflation rate by cutting expenditure on non-core expenses.
  2. Stop the electricity dependence of transport fleets because price rises will become unaffordable later.
  3. Shift treaty focus back to the 1840 treaty and intent to stop radicals using it to divide us all.
